In the constant effort to present affordable airport training programs, the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and the Northeast Chapter of AAAE are pleased to present a one and one-half day Advanced Airport Safety and Operations Specialist School for Northeast Chapter members, International Aviation Snow Symposium attendees and all other airport operations personnel in the Northeast region.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Voluntary and non-regulatory, ASOS schools are designed to increase awareness of FAA's Part 139 airport certification program and enhance both the professionalism and basic safety proficiency of airport operations personnel. This professional school is specifically tailored to airport personnel responsible for the systematic operations of public-use (both commercial service and general aviation) airports throughout the United States. The ASOS School has become a regular part of many airport training programs for operations personnel.

Over 5,000 airport operations and safety personnel from both public-use and DOD/military airfields have attended these schools since their inception. Both Part 139 and non-regulatory airside/ landside safety and operations issues will be addressed. Most airports have adopted ASOS Schools as a regular and recurring part of training airport operations and maintenance personnel. Discussion on best management practices and lessons learned by participating airports are encouraged throughout the sessions.

Topics to be covered at this school include:
  • Operational Readiness
  • Winter Operations
  • Airport Layout and FAR Part 77
  • Approach and Landing Aids
  • Security and TSAR 1542
  • Airports and the Environment
  • Airport Operational Case Study
